About Dallas Taylor, Addiction Specialist
In December of 1984, Dallas Taylor started a new journey as a sober human being. The road ahead wasn't easy. In 1989 Dallas was diagnosed with terminal liver disease. Short on funds to pay for the expensive and life saving liver transplant, Dallas was saved when his friends came to bat for him. A benefit concert for Dallas was held and the money was raised. The operation was a success. Dallas is lucky to be alive and now lives life on life’s terms.
Dallas Woodrow Taylor, Jr. was born in Denver Colorado in 1948 and grew up in San Antonio, Texas. At the age of ten Dallas's Mom took him to see the Gene Krupa story. Dallas knew then that he wanted to be a drummer. As a youth, Dallas played around many small Texas towns playing with the local bands and developing his famous style.
In 1967, Dallas moved to Los Angeles with his band Clear Light. There he found himself among Rock's Royalty. John Sebastian introduced Dallas to Stephen Stills. The Buffalo Springfield had just dissolved and Stills was at a loss for musical direction. As Crosby, Stills, and Nash started to evolve, they asked Dallas to round out their recordings by joining in on drums. It was a match made in heaven and they recorded their first record. After many more albums, Dallas and Stills conceptualized a big band sound and thus was born Manassas. After many gold records and many tours, Dallas and Stills went their separate ways.
There were many years of pain and struggle ahead, as well as more than a few life and death moments. Somehow through it at all, Dallas and his music have survived. 35 years after arriving in Los Angeles the former “Prisoner of Woodstock” has now begun a new sober life and another journey. Through his work with recovering addicts both inside and outside of the music business, Dallas has helped give back to the community which has given him so much through his substance abuse interventions as a Los Angeles interventionist.
Dallas Taylor is a renowed musician and the former drummer with Crosby, Stills and Nash, Manassas and other bands. As such, he continues to remain very active in the entertainment industry, helping addicted musicians and performers find sobriety and health.
Millions of men and women have heard or read about the unique Fellowship called Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) since its founding in 1935. Of these, more than 2,000,000 now call themselves members. People who once drank alcohol and used drugs to excess finally acknowledged that they could not handle alcohol and other addictive substances, and now live a new way of life without drugs and alcohol.
If a loved one may be in need of an alcohol and drug intervention, Dallas Taylor, addiction interventionist, is available not only for Los Angeles interventions and California interventions, but throughout the US for alcohol and drug interventions.
